All fabrics used have been chosen with care and respect for their natural properties to best do the job in hand.  All pads (except Panty Liners-Thins) have a super-absorbent core of hemp/cotton and a PUL (polyurethane laminate) leakproof layer.  All pads have a choice of cover in 100% Cotton. Most of our fabrics are limited editions - so if you see something you like - get in quick!

Fun

The pad covers are made from 100% brushed cotton flannel -  a soft, comfortable, absorbent and natural fabric.  A selection of fun prints (as pictured - top)) are co-ordinated with a plain underside. 

Funky

The pad covers are made from 100% brushed cotton flannel.  They have a funky print top-side and co-ordinated plain underside. 

Floral

The covers come in a range of floral prints made from 100% cotton (not brushed) with a co-ordinated plain beige underside (as pictured).

Plain Colours

The covers come in a range of rich plain colours currently red, purple, lime and pink and are 100% brushed Cotton Flannel.  The top and underside of the pad are the same colour.

Pads are also available in stylish just black (not brushed cotton) or just white (brushed cotton). ( If you choose white please be aware of the greater potential for staining)

Organic Cotton

For those ready to take another step and, by popular request, we have introduced an organic range of pads available in  a selction of prints and plain colours (as pictured). Pads are currently the same price as our non-organic cotton . As in all our pads, these have a leakproof layer (PUL), an ultra absorbent hemp/cotton core (55% hemp and 45% SKAL certified organic cotton) and, a 100% certified organic cotton outer cover (not brushed).

Cotton production accounts for more than 10% of world pesticide use and exposes growers and pickers, wildlife and the environment to poisoning.  Pesticides contaminate water supplies and farm labourers can suffer long term illness from exposure to chemicals.  Organic cotton on the other hand, uses 100% natural inputs like manure, beneficial insects etc. so no chemicals or artificial fertilisers are used and neither, have plants been genetically modified.  For this reason, organic cotton is fast becoming appreciated by people all over the world. Neither does  Hemp require the use of herbicides or sprays to grow and, it is good for the soil.  It has a short growth cycle and it conditions the soil for future crops with its long root systems.  Nature's greatest choice!

The organic cotton used for the outer covers originates from a worker's co-operative in Southern India.  This cotton is also certified as fair trade. Through fair trade farmers are paid a fair and stable price.  All employees within the co-operative receive above average wages and are provided with full secure employment throughout the year and employment related benefits.  Only environmentally friendly 'non azo' reactive dyes are used to obtain the bright colours.  Organic fabrics have been washed and pre-shrunk but will need to be washed before use to remove rice water starch.  As fabrics are handloomed they will have irregularities/imperfections.  This does not affect the strength of the fabric. in any way

Please note that when you order your pads you will choose a fabric collection ie. fun, funky, floral, plain prints or organic cotton and you will be sent a selection of pads from within that range (unless you order just black or just white of course).  Fabrics may on occasions vary to the ones pictured due to availability but we do try and keep written up what is actually in stock.
